Packaging & Shipping Suppliers

I’ll be honest with you on this one… I didn’t put a LOT of thought into packaging — I had so many orders coming in, I didn’t really care. I tried to do it as cheap as possible to get it out of the door.

But… Over the years, we did spend a little more time (but not tooo000 much time) on packaging design.

Presentation is important and if you’re new, you might as well try and get as many things right as possible. A great example of a company that takes packaging to another level is APPLE. When you buy their iPods, iPads and or notebooks, the packaging is just amazing. Clean, simple, neat and elegant. Sometimes, the packaging is so great you don’t want to throw away the box.

If you can impress the heck out of your customer, then go for it — so long as it doesn’t break the bank.

The best thing I’d recommend is ordering some tees from some of your favorite brands online and see how they package and ship their stuff to you. Each company will do their packaging and setup differently and that’s why I’d recommend you order from a variety so you can decide which method you like best and then emulate it.

Standing out in this industry is a great thing — you’ll find that many people will simply use plastic bags or cheap mailers to fit the shirts into (I’m guilty of this myself).

Most people will use plastic mailers, tyvek mailers and boxes and if you’re strapped for cash, you may find yourself using a similar setup.

If you want to step it up a notch, use the colored/metallic poly mailers — you can even get your own design custom printed onto these as well — it’s much cheaper to have a nice custom label made and then apply the label onto the mailers — that’s what we later did with our packaging.

Also, consider using a mailing tube to stand out — there are a variety of packaging supplies when you order your supplies via (request their catalog).
